WAFF History

We started as a one day festival at the University of Winnipeg after a meeting with Professor Jim Silver. We had 4 films and Tina Keeper was our keynote speaker. The hall was filled and WAFF was born. We are the longest standing Indigenous film festival in Western Canada. The 3rd largest in North America.
